AI and recording
Draft – pending legal review. Last updated October 2026.
MeTeams gives you an AI stand-in, your “Me”, that can join a meeting when you can't. This page describes the rules the product is being built around. The product has not launched yet.
A Me is always labeled
- Its name in the meeting says what it is, for example “Amara's Me (AI stand-in)”.
- It announces itself when it joins.
- It never pretends to be the person it stands in for. We do not make realistic face or voice clones. A Me uses a labeled photo card or a stylized avatar, and a clearly artificial voice.
Consent first
- Attendees are told before and at the start of the meeting.
- A host can remove the Me with one click.
- We respect each meeting platform's own recording and consent indicators.
What a Me may do
- Listener: joins silently and sends its owner a short briefing.
- Representative: answers factual questions from its owner's notes and documents. Anything else goes to its owner.
- Delegate: agrees to things only within limits its owner set in advance. These limits are checked by our servers, not just by the AI, and every commitment is logged.
Recording and transcripts
To write a briefing, a Me may process a meeting's audio or transcript. Details such as how long we keep it will be published here before launch. You are responsible for following the recording laws where you and your attendees are located.
